Manama, June 18 (BNA): The “Madar” system for medical device registration and the “Tatabu” system for medical device and supply tracking have been introduced by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).
National Health Regulatory Authority launches systems to strengthen digital oversight of medical devices and supplies
According to the Authority, the introduction of the two systems is a component of its continuous endeavors to promote digital transformation and improve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s medical device and supply regulations. The program aims to promote the highest standards of quality and patient safety while supporting the effectiveness of healthcare services.
The “Madar” technology, according to the NHRA, is intended to automate and expedite the medical device registration procedure. In accordance with accepted international standards and best practices, it will increase the effectiveness of services offered to suppliers, manufacturers, and agents, facilitating faster transaction processing while boosting transparency and regulatory compliance.
The Authority further stated that by monitoring medical supplies and gadgets along the supply chain, the “Tatabu” system seeks to enhance patient safety. The system helps to guarantee the quality, safety, and efficient monitoring of medical items by using globally accepted standards for product identification and traceability.
The system is the first fully integrated national platform for tracking medical supplies and devices among the Gulf Cooperation Council nations, according to the NHRA, demonstrating Bahrain’s leadership in implementing cutting-edge digital technologies and creating cutting-edge healthcare regulatory frameworks.
The Authority emphasized that the two projects are a strategic move toward creating an integrated digital ecosystem that facilitates decision-making, boosts oversight services, and increases the effectiveness of regulatory operations. The initiatives also strengthen the Kingdom’s standing as a preeminent regional center for cutting-edge legal and medical systems.
In acknowledgment of their efforts and contribution to the success of this national initiative, the partners and organizations that helped plan and carry out the two projects were also acknowledged at the ceremony. According to the NHRA, the program emphasizes how crucial stakeholder cooperation and engagement are to fostering innovation and advancement in Bahrain’s healthcare industry.
