Manama, Sept. 1 (BNA): As part of continuous government initiatives to strengthen and simplify public services, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has improved its registration service for medical devices and supplies.
NHRA enhances medical devices and supplies registration service
With the improved service, applicants can electronically register medical goods and devices and receive registration certificates after meeting the requirements. Processing times have been greatly shortened, and the number of necessary papers has been decreased from 19 to eight.
The express service now takes five days instead of ten, while the ordinary service now takes ten working days instead of twenty. Additionally, the number of necessary documents has decreased from 19 to three, and the accreditation process has been shortened from 20 working days to three. The one-year registration period has been extended to three years.
Other enhancements include streamlining processes, standardizing service information across all channels, improving digital technologies and the user experience, and cutting the number of necessary approvals by 25%.
The National Health Regulatory Authority’s (NHRA) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, stated that the enhancements demonstrate the authority’s dedication to re-engineering processes and implementing digital solutions to offer quicker, simpler, and more flexible services while upholding the regulatory standards required to guaranty the quality and safety of medical supplies and devices in Bahrain.
The project is a component of broader government initiatives to enhance public services. Over 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published; 800 of these have since been built or re-engineered in a variety of industries in response to input from investors, mystery shoppers, and the national Tawasul system.
