Manama, July 7 (BNA): Government Hospitals organized an awareness event in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior to raise community understanding of the risks associated with drug usage and addiction and to emphasize the significance of treatment, rehabilitation, and support for patients in recovery.

The program included educational and awareness-raising activities that highlighted the specialized treatment, rehabilitation, psychological, and social services offered by the psychiatric hospital’s addiction treatment section. A handful of patients who were in recovery were also recognized for their will to conquer addiction and start a new chapter in their life.
The Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, emphasized the value of collaboration between the community, security, and health sectors in order to improve prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation initiatives and shield people, families, and society from the dangers of drug abuse.
According to her, Government Hospitals keep creating integrated treatment and rehabilitation programs that help patients’ long-term recovery and reintegration into society while attending to their social, psychological, and medical requirements.
In order to assist patients overcome addiction and achieve stability, the addiction treatment unit offers comprehensive treatment, rehabilitation, psychiatric, and social programs based on professional best practices, according to Dr. Shaima Ali Bucheery, Chief of Medical Services at the Psychiatric Hospital.
Additionally, Dr. Bucheery praised the Ministry of Interior’s initiatives to fight drug usage and increase public knowledge of its risks, emphasizing the value of collaboration in bolstering programs for prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
