Manama, April 24 (BNA): In order to attend the final game of His Majesty the King’s Football Cup for the 2025–2026 athletic season, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputized His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs. Several high-ranking officials were present, including His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the General Sports Authority.

Muharraq Club defeated Riffa Club in the final, which drew a sizable crowd, and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad declared them the winners of His Majesty the King’s Football Cup.
Noting that the Cup is one of the most important national sporting events and that His Majesty directly supports it, His Highness took satisfaction in being there on behalf of His Majesty the King. His Highness said, “This support reflects His Majesty’s commitment to elevating sport’s status in the Kingdom of Bahrain and raising its standards to achieve further accomplishments.”
His Highness praised the players’ efforts and stated that the final demonstrated the advanced level Bahraini football has attained in terms of technical performance, attendance, and organization.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad thanked the Muharraq Club Board of Directors, which is led by Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa. He also praised the team’s performance during the competition and the caliber of Riffa Club, which reflects the development of Bahraini football.
His Highness also thanked the Bahrain Football Association for organizing the competition, pointing out that the Cup’s success is a result of institutional work and teamwork, which raises Bahraini sport’s profile internationally.
