Manama, July 15 (BNA): The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announced the launch of the “Tamakkan” and “Qiyada” programs as improved versions of its training and leadership employment programs as part of its ongoing efforts to empower Bahraini talent, strengthen their contribution to the private sector, and invest in the national workforce as a key pillar of sustainable growth.

By matching training and job results with present and future labor market demands, the two programs seek to educate and prepare Bahrainis for influential leadership roles. By investing in local talent and educating them for managerial and leadership roles that propel private sector growth and development, they are intended to boost Bahrainis’ competitiveness, create new avenues for professional advancement across a variety of economic sectors, and assist enterprises.

Through approved training tracks that incorporate professional, technical, and leadership competences in line with labor market demands, the “Tamakkan” program enhances people’s abilities. The program pays for training expenses related to earning the credentials and certificates required to progress in one’s career through a grant-based support mechanism.

Subject to the program’s support caps, jobseekers will receive 100% coverage for training costs; employed individuals will receive 70% support, and enterprise training programs will receive 50%.

Additionally, the “Tamakkan” program allows individuals and organizations to choose training programs that best suit their needs by providing an approved and regularly updated list of supported professional credentials. Every six months, training providers will be able to apply for the addition of new certifications based on predetermined, authorized criteria to guarantee high-quality results and conformity to labor market expectations.

In the meanwhile, private sector businesses are encouraged to recruit and hire Bahraini talent into managerial and leadership roles with wages up to BD2,500 under the “Qiyada” program, which offers 30% pay support for a whole year. The program helps Bahraini professionals advance their careers and find good jobs, giving them the exposure and experience they need to assume leadership roles in their companies.

These initiatives are anticipated to boost Bahrainis’ access to high-quality employment prospects, encourage private sector companies to invest more in domestic talent, and improve workforce preparedness to meet changing market demands. By creating a workforce that is more competitive, resilient, and prepared for the future, they also help achieve national development goals.

Through Tamkeen’s website, individuals and businesses can apply and find out more about these programs.

The introduction of these new initiatives is in line with Tamkeen’s 2026 strategic priorities, which concentrate on sectors that will benefit Bahrainis and the economy the most. It also illustrates Tamkeen’s role in creating career pathways through initiatives that link skills to employment opportunities, embracing creative strategies to boost private sector expansion and funding, and putting into practice initiatives that improve the fund’s efficacy and efficiency by creating internal mechanisms and consistently bolstering governance.
