Manama, July 17 (BNA): In collaboration with Faith in Leadership and the University of Oxford’s 1928 Institute, the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC) initiated the second iteration of the King Hamad Leadership in Coexistence Program.
KHGC launches second King Hamad Leadership in Coexistence Programme
According to Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the KHGC Board of Trustees, the Kingdom of Bahrain has established itself as a model for respecting religious and cultural diversity, empowering youth, and enhancing their role in fostering a culture of peace, understanding, and intercultural dialogue. He pointed out that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision and the orders of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote the ideals of tolerance and coexistence among civilizations, cultures, and religions are the driving forces behind this progress.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed expressed pride in the participation of a distinguished group of professionals and young people in the specialized academic program, which helps to develop a generation of emerging leaders capable of converting the principles of tolerance and coexistence into workable strategies that promote the growth of more harmonious, stable, and peaceful societies.
He pointed out that the program’s ongoing success in building sustainable leadership skills and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and expertise to future generations is demonstrated by the involvement of multiple first-edition graduates who finished the Train-the-Trainer track in leading several of the training sessions.
Interactive sessions and real-world applications in dialogue management, effective communication, pluralism, combating hate speech, and creating workable projects that improve social cohesion and uphold the principles of respect and coexistence at the regional and global levels are all part of the program.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed reiterated the KHGC’s dedication to fostering a culture of harmony, communication, and respect for one another, investing in youth, and providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to guarantee the sustainability of these ideals and increase their influence throughout institutions and societies through sustainable policies and practices.
