Manama, Aug. 7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, and His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, signed the “Makkah Joint Defense Agreement” today at the Joint Defense Summit hosted by Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the three countries’ strong military prowess and defense capabilities in a statement, highlighting their track record of upholding international obligations and promoting regional security and stability.
Bahrain sees the accord as a strategic alliance between equal partners, motivated by a common desire to protect regional and international security while enhancing credible deterrence.
The Ministry praised the agreement as a significant addition to the larger regional defense framework, highlighting how it strengthens and supplements the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) collective defense systems thru strategic integration and cooperation.
Bahrain reiterated that Saudi Arabia’s security is essential to its own and stated that it fully supports any efforts that uphold territorial integrity, preserve national sovereignty, and promote political solutions to regional problems.
