Manama, Aug. 20 (BNA): The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) developed its Value Added Tax (VAT) registration and data update service as part of continuous government efforts to enhance service quality and re-engineer services. This service allows taxpayers to register and update their data through the NBR’s electronic portal through streamlined procedures, supporting the highest levels of compliance and accuracy of registered data.

The service includes updates to current data, such as banking and financial information, as well as new registration applications with the NBR for VAT reasons. This improves the accuracy of data filed with the NBR and makes it easier for firms involved in economic activity that above the obligatory registration threshold to comply with VAT Law requirements.

As part of re-engineering the service process and simplifying its procedures through streamlined review and approval processes, the application processing time under the enhanced service has been shortened from thirty to twenty-one working days. In an effort to improve the taxpayer experience and attain the highest levels of service quality, this has shortened the service-level agreement term and expedited application processing.

The NBR’s CEO, Rana Ibrahim Faqeehi, confirmed that creating the VAT registration and data update service is a part of the organization’s dedication to consistently enhancing its offerings and guaranteeing that they satisfy the highest quality standards by implementing best practices in streamlining processes and creating electronic services. This helps achieve higher levels of quality and efficiency and facilitates the regulatory requirements for taxpayers’ VAT registration.

As part of the NBR’s continuous plan to develop its services and improve their quality, she continued, re-engineering the service represents the organization‘s desire to offer more adaptable and accessible services by creating service processes and enhancing procedures to assist speedier processing.

Over 1,300 government services have been recorded, translated, and published as part of continuous government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services; approximately 800 services are currently undergoing development and re-engineering across several government sectors.

The National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, secret shopper surveys assessing government services, the introduction of guidance manuals, and service level agreements serve as the foundation for this.

These initiatives enhance the government’s digital transformation process, strengthen beneficiary experiences, improve procedural efficiency, and improve service quality.
