Dubai, May 16 (BNA): The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) was recognized for its efforts in hosting the third Asian Youth Games in the Kingdom of Bahrain by winning the Middle East Sports Industry Awards (SPIA) for “Best Use of Social Media” and “Best Athlete Support Program.”
BOC wins two SPIA Awards
Yousif Duaij, Chairman of the Asian Youth Games Executive Committee, Ahmed Mohammed Abdulghaffar, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chief Operations Officer at the BOC, and Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the BOC, accepted the awards at a ceremony in Dubai on May 13.
Bahrain’s superior status in hosting major continental athletic events was reflected in the organizational, technical, and media success of the Third Asian Youth Games.
The SPIA honors, which honor leaders, decision-makers, institutions, facilities, and sports campaigns that support the growth of sport throughout the region, are recognized as one of the top specialized sports honors in the Middle East.
The accomplishment, according to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the BOC, President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), reflects Bahrain’s outstanding position on the Asian and global sports scene.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, both contributed to the accomplishment, according to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad.
Additionally, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, confirmed that the accomplishment shows his attention and support.
Winning the prizes, according to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, is a testament to the BOC’s outstanding work, the teamwork that went into planning the 3rd Asian Youth Games, and the national cadres’ contribution to delivering the event in accordance with the highest professional standards.
His Highness praised the efforts of all committees, volunteers, partners, and media professionals who contributed to the success, adding that the accomplishment serves as inspiration to keep growing the sports industry and bolstering Bahrain’s standing as a top sports destination.
