November 15, Manama (BNA): The Bahrain Diabetes Conference and the Global Diabetic Foot Course 2025, which took place in Manama from November 12–15, were attended by Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Society and the Supreme Council of Health. More than 200 experts from Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and various European and Asian nations attended the event.

The conference emphasized the value of regional and global collaboration in addressing diabetes and its consequences, and it took place on World Diabetes Day. According to Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah, Bahrain has achieved great strides in preventing chronic diseases and enhancing the quality of healthcare thanks to strong national policies and regulations.

Speakers emphasized national initiatives to improve patient outcomes, increase the number of diabetic foot clinics, and strengthen early identification programs. The conference’s contribution to fostering a culture of research and assisting young healthcare workers was acknowledged by the scientific committee.

Experts emphasized the importance of GCC collaboration in standardizing standards and creating shared data to enhance treatment outcomes, while the Gulf Diabetic Foot Group emphasized early education and routine screening as crucial to preventing serious consequences.

The Ministry of Health, the Royal Medical Services, Primary Health Care Centers, and EduCare were among the sponsors and participating organizations that the organizers acknowledged.
