September 30, Manama (BNA): The Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, sponsored the opening of the International Downstream Conference and Exhibition 2025 (IDCE 2025), which has as its theme “Innovating Energy, Creating Sustainable Value.”

Along with more than 5,000 top officials, experts, academics, and industry players, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, attended the event.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, headed by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have shown a strong commitment to supporting programs that aim to grow the crucial oil and gas sector, Dr. Bin Dainah emphasized.
He praised His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bapco Energies and HM the King’s Representative for Youth Affairs and Humanitarian Work, for promoting innovative ideas and strategic initiatives that have improved the Kingdom of Bahrain’s standing in the energy and downstream industries.
The continued dedication to supporting prosperous industry events in accordance with national development goals was emphasized by the oil minister. He pointed out that regional conferences for the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries are excellent venues for exchanging ideas, exhibiting innovations, and encouraging the sustainability of the sector. Expert networking, project presentations, and conversations on improving manufacturing and operational excellence to benefit local downstream businesses are all made possible by the conference.
He emphasized that downstream industries are essential to the economic policies of the Gulf Cooperation Council because they stimulate investment, encourage diversification, and boost global competitiveness by utilizing sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology.
In order to guarantee a knowledgeable basis and long-term industry success, Dr. Bin Dainah further emphasized the significance of investing in training young Bahrainis and empowering national talent as partners in sector development.
He praised sponsors, attendees, and presenters who help to advance the industry, align with future goals, and improve the region’s industrial status globally. He closed by acknowledging the Gulf Downstream Association’s crucial role in organizing the event.
Leading downstream enterprises from both domestic and foreign markets participated in the accompanying expo, which featured the newest developments and technology.

In addition to examining potential effects on downstream and energy industries both globally and regionally, the sessions addressed important issues such as the challenges facing the refining industry’s growth, resilience, decarbonization, sustainability, and the role of contemporary technology in enhancing refinery efficiency and sustainability.
A youth program that presented creative solutions, talked about ways to improve industrial performance, and strengthened the sector’s capacity to handle difficulties in a sustainable way was also included in the conference.
