Manama, May 13 (BNA): Attorney Salah Ahmed Al Midfa, Chairman of the Bahrain Bar Society’s Board of Directors, welcomed members of the board to Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).

The purpose of the introduction meeting was to examine opportunities for cooperative cooperation in support of Bahraini women’s goals in the legal and rights domains, as well as to develop partnership and cooperation between the SCW and civil society institutions and professional groups.
The Secretary-General praised the association’s contribution to the advancement of the legal profession and emphasized the significance of strengthening collaboration between the SCW and the society to increase women’s legal awareness and support female professionals in the legal sector. The meeting examined the noteworthy advancements made by women within the society’s organizational structure, with women making up 56% of the board membership for the 2026–2028 term, including three board members and two reserve members out of a total of nine. This represents a significant increase over the previous term, when women’s representation was 28.5%. In order to increase women’s legal knowledge and assist female professionals in the legal field, she emphasized the significance of strengthening collaboration between the SCW and society.
With women making up 56% of the board membership for the 2026–2028 term—three board members and two reserve members out of a total of nine—the meeting examined the significant advancements made by women inside the society’s organizational structure. Compared to the previous term, when women’s representation was 28.5%, this represents a notable gain.
Both parties also discussed ideas for future cooperation and the society’s potential contribution to community awareness campaigns focused on legal and rights culture as well as the importance of family unity in fostering social stability. Discussions included well-known models and accomplished Bahraini women in the legal industry, as well as promising career opportunities in technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation within the legal sector, as well as international arbitration and criminal mediation.
