Manama, Feb. 8 (BNA) – Today, the Royal Medical Services Field Hospital and Royal Medical Services Strategic Warehouse were inaugurated under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, and His Majesty deputised Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), assigned Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, to attend.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Adviser for Financial and Technical Affairs at the General Command of the BDF, and Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), attended the occasion. The 58th anniversary of the BDF’s founding was celebrated at the same time as the event.

During his speech, Major General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services (RMS), expressed gratitude to the Commander-in-Chief, His Majesty the King, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. In addition to the opening of the RMS Strategic Warehouse and the field hospital, he emphasized the assistance provided to the RMS in the development of the health and military medical system.

“The field hospital is an advanced model of medical care in emergency locations,” Major General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa said. He clarified that it was intended to have mobile and expandable units with the newest medical technology and equipment, such as operating rooms, intensive care units, radiology and laboratory facilities, oxygen units, sterilisation equipment, triage and examination units, and all other necessities for quickly and effectively delivering integrated healthcare.

“The strategic warehouse is a unique project combining extensive space with high storage capacity,” Major General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa continued. With exact temperature and humidity control, it makes it possible to store and handle pharmaceutical and medical supplies with the greatest levels of effectiveness and quality. In addition to ensuring the sustainability of medical supplies in any situation and demonstrating the high degree of organization and discipline that defines the BDF, the facility features a variety of storage locations to enable quick access.

On his visit of the field hospital, Lt. Gen. Al Nuaimi examined the X-ray department, patient wards, laboratory, intensive care unit, sterilization unit, patient triage units, and other logistical facilities. The therapeutic phases as well as the medical care and services offered to patients, the injured, and the wounded were explained to the minister. Following the unveiling of the commemorative plaque commemorating the RMS Strategic Warehouse’s launch, the minister gave an inspection tour of the strategic warehouse and its cutting-edge machinery.

Lt. Gen. Al Nuaimi praised the RMS Field Hospital and RMS Strategic Warehouse’s efforts, pointing out that they will help improve the quality of therapeutic services offered by the BDF’s medical systems.

Lt. Gen. Al Nuaimi also praised the RMS’s ongoing efforts to deliver cutting-edge healthcare through state-of-the-art facilities furnished with cutting-edge medical technology and trained professionals in a range of medical specialties. He reaffirmed the RMS’s dedication to growing all medical services utilizing the most cutting-edge contemporary medical technologies in healthcare and treatment, as well as to consistently improving therapeutic and diagnostic services.
