Manama, April 11 (BNA): According to the Ministry of Interior, the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science has apprehended three suspects in a case involving the sale and trafficking of over 100 kilograms of hashish and marijuana, with an estimated street value of BD 1.5 million.

According to the Interior Ministry, “dead mail” was used to carry out the smuggling operations from Iran. The drugs were then sold and trafficked in the Kingdom of Bahrain using the same technique. It further stated that investigations, searches, and evidence-gathering activities were carried out following the confirmation of preliminary information about the case, which resulted in the suspects’ identification and apprehension.
The ministry added that two boats used for smuggling from Iran were among the seized items, along with amounts of money in different currencies and materials used in distribution and smuggling operations.
The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution and legal actions have been started.
