Manama, Sep. 23 (BNA): “Foundayo” (orfoglipron), an oral GLP-1 drug intended to treat obesity, was licensed by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).
NHRA licences “Foundayo” for obesity treatment
As long as it is used in accordance with established medical recommendations and after the required medical evaluation, the licensing permits “Foundayo” to access the Bahraini market through pharmacies, guaranteeing its safe usage based on the patient’s health condition.
In keeping with worldwide advancements in the treatment of obesity and related chronic diseases, the drug’s approval is a significant step in broadening the options for treating obesity and addressing associated health issues.
In order to improve the quality of healthcare services and support the ongoing development of Bahrain’s health sector by offering patients cutting-edge treatments in compliance with the highest authorized regulatory and medical standards, the licensing is part of NHRA‘s efforts to further develop the regulatory framework for pharmaceutical products and keep up with medical and therapeutic development.
