Manama, Aug. 15 (BNA): The Interior Ministry reported that Coast Guard marine patrols intercepted and stopped a boat and arrested three people on board for violating the decision regarding the maritime ban period, which is from 6:30 pm to 4:00 am, despite being warned multiple times and repeatedly ordered to stop.

According to the Coast Guard spokesperson, marine patrols were promptly instructed to stop the boat for violating the maritime ban decision and to confirm the nature of its movements after the radar monitoring system and coastal cameras detected it leaving one of the coasts and heading toward the northern areas. He observed that the boat’s operator disregarded stop instructions and tried to escape as the marine patrols got closer, purposefully running into one of the patrol boats. Two Coast Guard members suffered various injuries as a result, and the patrol boat was damaged.
He proceeded by saying that as the remaining patrols pursued the violating boat until it reached a shallow-water location, where the third person attempted to escape, two members of the violating boat fell into the sea, and the patrols were able to recover them and guaranty their safety.
According to the spokesperson, the Maritime Operations Center was able to precisely identify the person’s movements and location thru ongoing monitoring and follow-up using the radar system and coastal cameras. He was taken into custody, the boat was brought under control, and everyone on board was subject to the appropriate legal proceedings.
All sailors are urged by the Coast Guard to abide by decisions and directives pertaining to maritime movement, follow maritime ban timings, react promptly to orders from marine patrols, and refrain from any conduct that would jeopardize their own or others’ safety. It confirmed that security and monitoring efforts would continue, and that offenders would face legal repercussions.
