Manama, Aug. 21 (BNA): On August 22, 2025, the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), an advisory body founded under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the leading advocate for Bahraini women’s advancement, celebrates its 24th anniversary. وترأس صاحبة السمو الملكي الأميرة سبيكة بنت إبراهيم آل خليفة، عضوة جلالة الملك، المجلس الذي يعمل بوصفه الهيئة المرجعية الوطنية لقضايا المرأة.
المجلس الأعلى للمرأة يحتفل بالذكرى السنوية الرابعة والعشرين لإنشائه
وقد خطت الرابطة خطوات هامة في السنوات ال ٢٤ الماضية أدت إلى تحسين وضع المرأة وضمنت مشاركتها في المجالات الاجتماعية والسياسية والثقافية والاقتصادية. وتمثل هذه المبادرات انعكاسا لرؤية المجلس للمستقبل، التي تحافظ على الطابع الوطني للبحرين وقيمها، مع مواكبة التقدم العالمي في تمكين المرأة. ومن خلال القوانين والسياسات والمبادرات الداعمة، أحرزت الحكومة، بقيادة ولي العهد ورئيس الوزراء سمو الأمير سلمان بن حمد آل خليفة، تقدما بالتعاون مع مؤسسات الدولة والقطاع التجاري والمجتمع المدني.
ويحتفل المجلس بهذه الذكرى السنوية بتسليط الضوء على إنجازاته التي تجعل تمكين المرأة أولوية وطنية تحت الرعاية الملكية. وقد تم تلبية مطالب المرأة البحرينية من خلال برامجها ومبادراتها، التي شجعتها على تولي المناصب القيادية وعززت وضعها كشركاء إنمائيين هامين.
The National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025–2026) was introduced by the SCW in 2025 with the subject:Bahraini Women: From Empowerment and Progress towards Leadership. إن استقرار الأسرة، وصنع القرار، والمشاركة الاقتصادية، ونوعية الحياة هي المحاور الرئيسية الأربعة للخطة. وتتناول المبادرات في كل ميدان خمسة مجالات هي: التوعية والتدريب، ومراجعة الحسابات والرقابة، والميزنة المراعية للمنظور الجنساني، والسياسات، والرصد والتقييم.
In accordance with this strategy, HRH Prince Sabeeka issued Decision (1) of 2025 creating the Women’s Committee in the Nursery and Kindergarten Sector to improve early child education by researching the working conditions of women in this field, proposing general policies, and creating training and certification programs.
ومن أجل تحسين فرص الحصول على خدمات الدعم، أعلن المجلس الأعلى أيضا افتتاح مكاتب دعم المرأة في مراكز التنمية الاجتماعية الواقعة في جميع محافظات البحرين الأربع. واستناداً إلى نتائج اجتماع مع ممثلي وسائط الإعلام بشأن الخطة الوطنية، أصدرت أيضاً الأميرة سابيكا بنت إبراهيم (HRH Prince Sabeeka bint Ibrahim) القرار (6) الصادر في عام 2025 بإنشاء لجنة المرأة في وسائط الإعلام لإظهار تقدم البحرين في هذا المجال وإنجازات المرأة.
ولا تزال صاحبة السمو الملكي تؤيد المناسبات الوطنية الهامة. وأعربت عن تأييدها لمسابقة البحرين الكبرى المقدسة في مجال الترفيه والتذكر، وجائزة الشيخة هيسا بنت سلمان آل خليفة للعمل التطوعي للشباب، وحفلات التخرج التابعة للجامعة الملكية للمرأة ومدرسة شيخا هيسا للبنات، والمنتدى العالمي لنساء الأعمال التجارية والمعرض الذي استضافته جمعية نساء الأعمال البحرينية.
وحضرت وفود من كل دولة عضو في مجلس التعاون الخليجي الاجتماع الإقليمي الثاني للجنة الدائمة المعنية بشؤون المرأة التابعة لمجلس التعاون الخليجي، الذي عقد في البحرين بمقر المجلس. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، حضرت المنظمة منتدى " إقامة شراكات مؤسسية من أجل التنمية المستدامة في دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي " في المملكة العربية السعودية، حيث شملت مواضيع الشراكات الإقليمية الناجحة، والتعاون المؤسسي، والمشاكل والحلول، وتناولت مهمة المنظمات الإقليمية في مجال التنمية المستدامة.
وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، شاركت المنظمة في منتدى تبادل المعارف التابع لمركز تبادل المعارف المعني بتمكين المرأة اقتصاديا التابع للرابطة.
Globally, the SCW took part in the third Middle East Sustainability Forum, which was hosted in Bahrain and brought together more than 400 experts and decision-makers to talk about innovation, business models, and climate action. Additionally, it attended the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York, where it, in collaboration with UN Women, presented the third iteration of the HRH Princess Sabeeka Global Award for Women’s Empowerment. Reviewing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, assessing gender equality advancements, and formulating international policy were the main objectives of the CSW69 session.
The “Imtiaz” Award for young Bahraini women entrepreneurs, which highlights female talent and business success stories, is one of the Supreme Council’s ongoing national projects.
Through memoranda of understanding with the Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, the SCW fortified national alliances to better coordinate assistance for women in times of crisis. In order to foster collaboration in the areas of gender equality, preventing violence against women, and family counseling services, it inked a new pact with the Bahrain Women’s Union.
Furthermore, the SCW and the Institute of Public Administration inked a contract to jointly conduct training programs that support the national leadership development program, advance gender parity, and improve leadership competencies. In order to further efforts on gender balance, a collaboration agreement was also inked with the Shura Council, which was represented by its chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh.
In the future, the SCW will keep promoting the accomplishments of Bahraini women, boosting their involvement in the family, society, economy, and leadership, and making sure that their contributions are sustained. In order to maintain البحرين‘s principles, identity, and social cohesiveness, the Supreme المجلس is still dedicated to enhancing the representation of women in leadership and decision-making.
