Kuwait, Jan. 29 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain national handball team qualified for the 2027 World Cup in the Federal Republic of Germany after winning the 22nd Asian Handball Championship 2026 in the State of Kuwait. The team defeated Qatar 29–26 to win the championship.

At halftime, Bahrain led 14–11; the second half concluded tied at 24–24, necessitating extra time.
This win is a big milestone for Bahraini handball, because the team reached the final five times before (2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2022) but always finished second. The triumph is the result of years of consistent development and diligence.
By qualifying for the World Cup for the eighth time in a row, the team also improved its standing internationally, demonstrating consistent success and highlighting the fact that the Asian title was the product of long-term planning, continuous support, and intense ambition.
