January 27, Manama (BNA): After the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives approved it, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued Law (1) of 2026 revising Article (219) of Decree-Law (54) of 2002 governing the Internal Regulation of the Council of Representatives.
HM King ratifies, issues Law (1) of 2026 following approval of Shura, Representatives Councils
The law requires the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives to prepare and submit the audited final account within three months of the end of the fiscal year. It also specifies how the Speaker and the Council Bureau will review it, permits its referral to the Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs for review and reporting, and stipulates that the final account’s approval and issuance will follow the same procedures as the Council’s budget.
The day after the law is published in the Official Gazette, it will take effect.
