Dec. 29, Cluj-Napoca (BNA): The hosting flag for the Kingdom of Bahrain to host the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Youth Championships next year was given to Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) and Vice President of the Asian Table Tennis Federation (ATTF). The countdown to hosting the international event began with the handover, which happened at the end of the ITTF World Youth Championships in Romania.

Receiving the hosting flag is a significant turning point in the federation’s history, according to Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz. According to her, it highlights the close ties with the federation, especially because it falls during its centennial celebrations, and shows the confidence of the ITTF’s General Assembly in the Kingdom to host this significant international sporting event.
Given that Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), continues to support sport and is interested in enhancing Bahrain’s standing as a major sporting event host, Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz also expressed confidence in Bahrain‘s ability to host the championship and present it in the best possible way.
Bahrain’s preparations for hosting the championship were previously discussed in formal meetings between the BTTA and the ITTF. Shaikha Haya bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa led the federation’s delegation, which also featured BTTA Vice President Ali Al Madeh and Secretary-General Jaffar Hadi. The delegation investigated the experience of overseeing this significant international athletic event and analyzed organizational and technical arrangements.
