November 11, Manama (BNA): Yousif Mohammed Al Binkhalil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, attended the closing ceremony of the fourth Bahrain Theatre Festival, which was sponsored by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
Under patronage of HH Khalid bin Hamad, Bahrain Theatre Festival concludes
This year’s event, which was organized by the Bahrain Theaters Union Associations, took place in conjunction with Bahraini theater’s centennial.
According to Al Binkhalil, the festival is a significant platform in Bahrain’s cultural landscape, showcasing admiration for theater pioneers and their innovative achievements that represent Bahrain‘s artistic and national identity. He emphasized His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s continued support for the theater and cultural industries.
Additionally, he praised His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s patronage, which demonstrates His Highness’s dedication to fostering the arts and elevating Bahraini talent across a range of cultural domains.
According to Al Binkhalil, the festival is crucial for the growth of fresh creative talent and offers a venue for the discovery and development of up-and-coming artists, enhancing their visibility in the cultural sphere. He noted that the festival fosters youth creativity and innovation and helps Bahrain’s theater scene flourish.
A brief play called “Love is for the Birds” was one of the creative performances and recognition portions that took place during the program. In appreciation of their contributions, the Undersecretary gave awards to participants, critics, jury members, and festival competition winners.
