October 19, Manama (BNA): At the Handball Federation Hall in the Umm Al Hassam Sports Complex, the Bahraini handball team defeated Hong Kong 36–12 to start their campaign at the 3rd Asian Youth Games. Under the sponsorship of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the competition will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31.

With strong defense and quick, efficient assaults, the team dominated early on and led 18–5 at halftime because to their better technique and fitness. They demonstrated their readiness and ambition. They were confident and tactically disciplined, and they kept control of the game in the second half. Without lowering the team’s performance, coach Mohammed Abdulrahman swapped players to gauge their preparedness for forthcoming games.
Other Bahraini teams had a mixed bag of results: Hasan Al Laith, a Kurash player, lost to Vaibhav of India, Jassim Al Sabaie, a Pencak Silat player, lost to Ali Reza of Iran, and the Kabaddi squad lost to both Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Teqball makes its debut in the Asian Youth Games, and Bahrain’s volleyball squad begins their campaign on the second day.
