October 16, Manama (BNA): In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Zain Bahrain, a prominent telecommunications innovator in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has introduced the fifth iteration of the National E-Waste Competition.
Zain Bahrain launches national E-Waste competition to promote environmental awareness among students
The program demonstrates the business’s continued dedication to environmental responsibility, sustainability, and its support of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
In addition to encouraging creativity in creating efficient recycling solutions, the competition seeks to motivate schoolchildren throughout the Kingdom to gather electronic waste and dispose of it in a safe and responsible manner.
The SCE’s chief executive officer, Amina Hamad Al Rumaihi, emphasized the significance of the contest and called it a premier forum for educating Bahraini youth about environmental issues. She emphasized that the Council is eager to back programs that foster a sustainable culture and good waste management techniques in children at a young age.
Recycling, according to Al Rumaihi, is essential for conserving natural resources and safeguarding the environment since it lowers pollution and lessens the negative effects of trash on the ecosystem. She pointed out that because electronic trash contains heavy and toxic elements that can damage ecosystems if improperly managed, it is one of the most dangerous waste categories.
In its past iterations, the National E-Waste Competition has shown tremendous success. Around 8.6 tonnes of electronic garbage were collected during the initiative’s fourth edition, solidifying its standing as a nationwide forum for environmental awareness and community involvement.
With over 30 schools from all over the Kingdom taking part in its fifth year, the competition is still growing and demonstrates how engaged and enthusiastic children are about environmental preservation.
