October 14, Manama (BNA): The most recent meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT) was presided over by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of the Interior.

The Prime Minister’s Office Coordinator, the CEO of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), the Minister of Industry and Commerce, the Minister of Sustainable Development, and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs attended the meeting.
In order to support Bahrain’s overall development under the direction of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah emphasized the committee’s continuous efforts to advance government ICT services. These programs help the Kingdom accomplish its strategic goals for digital transformation.
The committee examined important agenda issues, such as improving the sustainability and efficiency of government services, after approving the minutes of the previous meeting and reviewing the choices that had been put into action. In keeping with Bahrain’s goal of a fully integrated digital society, the Minister emphasized the significance of digital development initiatives across sectors to enhance institutional performance and service quality.
In order to ensure prompt, effective, and high-quality implementation, the committee examined ongoing technology projects and digital initiatives. One of the highlights was the “Citizen Lifecycle” initiative, which was implemented through the MyGov application and offered integrated e-services for every stage of life, from education and birth registration to healthcare, work, housing, and retirement.
The idea was praised by the minister as a significant step toward improving citizen-centric digital platforms and simplifying eGovernment services.
The online healthcare initiative, which aims to increase virtual medical services to ease the burden on primary health centers and enable remote consultations, was also considered by the committee. The program received recognition for advancing the digital revolution of healthcare and enhancing the effectiveness and quality of services.
Bahrain’s national objective to improve performance and user experience was also supported by the evaluation of government plans to digitize public services and improve interconnection between systems.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah praised the accomplishments of Bahrain’s eGovernment initiatives, which are renowned worldwide for their ambitious scale and citizen-focused design. In order to strengthen Bahrain’s standing as a regional ICT hub, he emphasized the significance of informing beneficiaries about the e-services that are available and thanked committee members for their cooperation and commitment in furthering the Kingdom’s digital transformation.
