October 8, Baghdad (BNA): At the Arab Road Cycling Championship, which took place in Sulaymaniyah Governorate from October 3–13 and featured men’s, youth, juniors’, women’s, and girls’ categories, Bahrain’s under-19 cycling team took home the bronze in the team road race.
Bahrain wins bronze in Arab Cycling Championship
After a very competitive race in which top Arab cyclists participated, the Bahraini riders took home the bronze. Mohammed Hassan Jawad, Humood Awad Al Farhan, and Abdulaziz Saleh Al Hamri were among the national team’s standout riders. Their outstanding performance demonstrated their high technical skill level and paved the path for further victories in future races.
In addition to riders Ahmed Nasser, Ahmed Abdulghani, Mahdi Hassan, and Sayed Ahmed Khalil for the men’s team, Mohammed Hassan Jawad, Amer Saleh Al Khassham, Humood Awad Al Farhan, and Abdulaziz Saleh Al Hamri for the youth team, and Hassan Aqeel Thamer for the juniors, the Bahraini delegation is led by Sayed Shubber Hilal Al Wedaei, Secretary General of the Bahrain Cycling Association.
The accomplishment, according to Al Wedaei, is a significant turning point for Bahraini cycling, demonstrating its increasing competitiveness and inspiring more regional and global success.
He pointed out that the success of the “Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation League,” an initiative started by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, is reflected in the national team’s strong participation in this regional competition. The squad is determined to secure additional podium results as it continues its championship campaign.
