Manama, Oct. 7 (BNA): The eighth and final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, will take place on November 7 and 8 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), the Middle East’s Home of Motorsport.
30 days remain until WEC lights up BIC track in Bapco Energies 8H of Bahrain
With a full schedule of racing and family-friendly activities for all ages, BIC is encouraging fans to get their tickets in advance for an exciting weekend on and off the track.
After Formula 1, the FIA World Endurance Championship is the second-biggest event hosted by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). The 8 Hours of Bahrain, which features some of the fastest and most technologically advanced cars from top worldwide companies along with top international motorsport stars, brings the spirit of Le Mans back to Sakhir.
The championship, which has two primary classes—the Hypercar and the LMGT3—is well known for its high-performance endurance racing. For motorsport enthusiasts, a unique experience is promised as over 35 teams are anticipated to line up on the starting grid.
Prominent racers like former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, Robert Kubica, Antonio Giovinazzi, Kevin Magnussen, Mick Schumacher, Sébastien Buemi, and Kamui Kobayashi are among the participants in the championship.
The Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain is the only race of this length on the world championship calendar, and it will be the 14th WEC race to be contested at Sakhir and the seventh under its current eight-hour format.
Motorsport enthusiasts will have even more excitement as BIC will host the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East’s first round in addition to the endurance event.
There will be family-friendly events and off-track activities at BIC’s entertainment area as usual. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Bahrain Mangrove Initiative in support of environmental sustainability as part of the fourth year of the eco-friendly Green Ticket Initiative, which was started by BIC in collaboration with Bapco Energies.
For both race days, adult tickets cost BD 5.5, while children’s tickets cost BD 2.75. You can buy them at bahraingp.com or by giving +973-17450000 a call.
Additionally, two-day luxury hospitality packages (Le Mans Spirit Club) are offered for BD290, with reductions for tables of ten. Premium hospitality services and a private setting with a view of the main starting grid are included in the package.
