September 29, Manama (BNA): On Friday, October 3, the opening round of National Race Day for the 2025–2026 season will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), known as “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East.”
BIC to host first round of National Race Day
Time Attack and the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) are scheduled to compete in an exciting doubleheader during the event.
In collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, and the Auto X and Drift Commission, BIC is organizing and hosting the meeting, which will take place along the 2.55-kilometer Inner Track.
Under BIC’s dazzling, cutting-edge floodlights, racing is set to begin at 3:20 pm in the daylight and continue until after 10:30 evening, providing competitors with an additional obstacle of fluctuating circumstances.
Everyone is welcome to come and take in the exciting racing action. Adult tickets are BD2, while children’s tickets are BD1. Race fans can observe from BIC’s Beyon Grandstand, which provides amazing views of the circuit’s main features, such as the Inner Straight, which is home to the start and finish lines. Formerly known as the BIC, 2,000cc Challenge, the BTCC is one of the region’s oldest national racing championships and continues its tradition in its current form.
Isa Ebrahim, the winner from the previous year, is coming back to defend his title. In round one, Moazz Elzahrawi, Ahmed Algaidy, Ahmed Bajnaid, Ali Almansoori, Hamad Khamis, Andreas Buelow, and Rakan Al Fayez—all of whom also drive Honda Civics—will join him behind the wheel of his Honda Civic challenger.
Carina Abdulrahman in a Volkswagen Scirocco, James Taylor in an Acura RSX DC5, and Jamal Ebrahim in a Nissan Skyline round out the BTCC’s entry list for this season’s premiere.
The series’ qualifying session will begin at 6 p.m., with BTCC practice starting at 4:35 p.m. At 7:40 p.m., the first of two 15-lap races is set to start, and at 10 p.m., the second.
In contrast, Time Attack is a race against the clock, with the amount of time competitors need to navigate the track from beginning to end determining their final classification. Depending on their vehicles, competitors will compete in six separate classes: SU, UL, MA, SA, MB, and SB.
All competitors will begin time attack practice at 3:20 p.m., followed by heat one for the SU, UL, and MA classes at 5:10 p.m., and heat one for the SA, MB, and SB categories at 6:35 p.m.

At 8:15 p.m., the second heat for all competitors is scheduled.
The podium ceremonies for Time Attack and BTCC will take place at 10:45 p.m., marking the end of the day’s agenda.
There will be seven National Race Day races on BIC’s 2025–2026 racing schedule. Rounds two and three are scheduled for October 24 and November 21, respectively. Round four of the campaign will take place on January 10 of the following year, followed by round five on February 6. On March 13, the sixth and penultimate meeting will be held, laying the groundwork for the April 24 grand finale.
