September 28, Manama (BNA): In order to expose young individuals to the vibrant Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry and business events and encourage them to consider it as a potential career path, Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) developed the EWB Students Programme.
EWB launches “EWB Students Programme”
The EWB Students Program is a significant step in educating Bahrain’s young about the strategic importance of the MICE industry and corporate events, as well as the variety of fascinating career options available in this field, thanks to its practical approach and knowledgeable mentorship.
The program reached about 100 students in Grades 9–12, ages 15–18, from St. Christopher School, American School of Bahrain, British School of Bahrain, Bahrain Bayan School, and Ibn Khuldoon National School.
The program’s informative lectures and captivating activities emphasized the vital role that business events and the MICE sector play in boosting Bahrain‘s economy, bolstering the Kingdom’s Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, and promoting regional economic diversification. The program also provided a valuable forum for highlighting the increasing role that business travel plays in promoting innovation and sustainable economic growth.
The lectures covered a wide spectrum of topics, including: The significance of the MICE sector and business events in Bahrain and the region, tourism mega-projects and MICE infrastructure, the event life cycle and event management in practice, key industry stakeholders and ecosystems, international trends, and career opportunities and pathways within the tourism, MICE and business events sectors.
Adding a creative dimension to the learning experience, students participated in the “EWB Game of Life”, an interactive board-game-style activity designed by EWB to stimulate real-world decision-making in tourism and business events. Students worked in teams to navigate strategic and creative challenges, testing their problem-solving skills while competing to win.
Each school’s winning team will receive a unique behind-the-scenes tour of EWB during a significant live event, giving them a firsthand look at venue operations, event setup, and client interactions.
