September 12, Geneva (BNA): The CEO of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al Aseeri, attended the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research’s (UNIDIR) 2025 Outer Space Security Conference in Geneva on September 9–10.

held with the subject Bridging vision and responsibility: Opportunities and challenges for a future of secure spaces. Senior policymakers, officials from space agencies, business executives, scholars, and civil society members convened at the conference to discuss the rapidly changing security landscape in space.

A wide range of urgent topics were covered by the participants, such as the expanding dangers of space debris, cyber threats, and anti-satellite capabilities, as well as the growing overlap between military and civilian space usage. The talks also covered the legal and political ramifications of activities outside of lunar orbit, the vulnerabilities of space systems and their effects on Earth, and the consequences of developing technologies like artificial intelligence and quantum communications.

Bahrain’s involvement, according to Dr. Al Aseeri, underscores the country’s expanding importance in global discussions about space safety and sustainability. He pointed out that by participating in these forums, the Kingdom can help create a common ground and promote increased international collaboration to safeguard important space assets.

In order to keep outer space safe and sustainable for coming generations, he reaffirmed the BSA’s commitment to advancing advanced national competence in the field of space security while collaborating with partners around the globe.
