Manama, Sep. 29 (BNA): The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has created its personal record data update service in collaboration with the Ministry of Education as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to develop and re-engineer services. This service allows secondary school graduates to update their identity card and civil record information.
iGA develops personal record data update service for secondary school graduates
In contrast to the former procedure, which required three working days to issue the necessary certificate and a full working day to update the data, the improved service allows beneficiaries to automatically complete data update requests in only two steps. The development resulted in a 25% reduction in the Service Level Agreement (SLA), a reduction in the number of application processes from five to two, the introduction of an automated service, a 25% reduction in the number of approvals needed to receive the service, an improvement to the systems in use, and a standardization of service information published across all channels.
The creation of the personal record data update service, according to Ebrahim Ali Al Bursheed, Assistant Undersecretary for Education at the Ministry of Education, indicates the shift toward more streamlined and integrated government services through the direct connection of government school graduates’ data. This simplifies processes and speeds up the completion of their transactions by allowing their academic qualification data to be automatically updated after their graduation certificates are approved.
Al Bursheed stated that the service benefits over 13,000 graduates each year, confirming the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to expand its offerings and use digital integration to satisfy the needs and goals of students and graduates while improving their interaction with government services.
Ali Abdulaziz Janahi, Executive Vise President of eTransformation at the Information & eGovernment Authority, said that the service development reflects continued efforts to advance government services toward higher levels of integration and automation, making the beneficiary journey easier and faster and reducing the time and steps required to obtain the service. He pointed out that re-engineering services and improving their effectiveness and quality are made possible by direct data linkage between government agencies.
He clarified that the service development is a component of a continuous strategy to use technology and electronic integration to streamline processes and turn them into more proactive and integrated services, saving time and effort for both government agencies and beneficiaries, improving the effectiveness of government operations, and fostering the ongoing improvement of the beneficiary experience with digital services.
