The action is the result of collaboration and coordination between the pertinent authorities in both nations as part of cooperative efforts to improve integration and connectivity between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, create land transportation choices, and ease the movement of citizens, residents, and visitors.

Allowing taxis to transport people via the King Fahd Causeway, according to Fatima Abdulla Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, would offer flexible, safe, and effective transport options, facilitate easier travel between the two nations, and enhance the passenger experience.

Al Dhaen praised the combined efforts that helped launch and regulate the service in support of the common interests of the two nations, as well as the cooperation and coordination with the pertinent Saudi Arabian agencies, especially the Transport General Authority.

In order to ensure controlled crossing procedures, efficient traffic flow, and adherence to security, safety, and service quality standards, she stated that taxis will cross the causeway in compliance with approved regulatory frameworks and requirements and in coordination with the pertinent authorities in both countries.

According to Saudi Arabia’s safety and quality standards, the ministry stated that the service is subject to a number of regulatory requirements, such as the requirement that only officially licensed taxis cross the causeway, that vehicles meet approved technical requirements, and that they are no older than five years.
