Manama, July 12 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) upgraded its yearly restricted chemical reporting service as part of the government’s continuous efforts to improve service quality and re-engineer government services. The new digital service aims to strengthen oversight of the handling and use of restricted chemicals and improve environmental monitoring and compliance by providing accurate, integrated data.

Additionally, the service helps ensure that these chemicals are used in compliance with authorized environmental and regulatory requirements, minimize emissions, protect workers, and lower the hazards associated with exposure to these chemicals.

By combining license and customs declaration data into a single electronic system, the upgraded service has shortened the processing time from 20 working days to 15 days. Additionally, the improvement improves data accuracy and facilitates monitoring by lowering the time and effort needed to gather data and providing direct access to information on the amounts of restricted substances purchased and ingested.

In keeping with national initiatives to raise the caliber and effectiveness of public services, Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the SCE, stated that the improvement represents the council’s adoption of cutting-edge digital solutions that boost institutional performance, improve the efficiency of environmental services, and improve the experience of citizens and investors.

The introduction of the improved service, she continued, demonstrates the council’s dedication to consistently upgrading its services in ways that save institutions time and effort while enhancing the efficiency of its operational framework.

Over 1,300 government services have been recorded, translated, and published as part of continuous government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services; approximately 800 services are currently undergoing development and re-engineering across several government sectors.

The National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, secret shopper surveys assessing government services, the introduction of guidance manuals, and service level agreements serve as the foundation for this.

These initiatives enhance the government’s digital transformation process, strengthen beneficiary experiences, improve procedural efficiency, and improve service quality.
