Manama, July 11 (BNA): The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) awarded the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) the IAF 2025 Diversity Supporter certificate in appreciation of its dedication to advancing equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion, and the adoption of global best practices in the space industry.

The award is a testament to the agency’s efforts to create a welcoming workplace that fosters creativity and innovation, encourages the involvement of local talent, and advances Bahrain’s space industry and the Kingdom’s standing in the international space community.
The accreditation, according to BSA CEO Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, is a worldwide acknowledgement of the organization’s dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages creativity and innovation. In support of the agency’s ambitions and Bahrain’s sustainable development objectives, he continued, the recognition will further motivate the agency to invest in national talent and empower young people and women in space, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The accomplishment, according to Dr. Al Aseeri, will help the agency’s policies and programs to promote diversity and inclusion and increase collaboration with regional and global partners in support of Bahrain’s goal of creating an economy centered on knowledge and innovation.
As part of its attempts to improve its standing in international forums, the agency continues to carry out initiatives to build human capital and national skills while encouraging diversity, inclusivity, and creativity within the space industry.
