Manama, May 6 (BNA): According to the Head of the Terror Crimes Prosecution, the Lower Criminal Court rendered two decisions in distinct cases pertaining to filming and taking pictures of important facilities during its session today. The accused received sentences ranging from one to five years in prison; additionally, one of them was fined BD 100 and had things seized.
Sentences of up to 5 years in two cases of filming vital facilities
In the first instance, the perpetrator was apprehended after the Anti-Cybercrime Directorate monitored a social media account that posted video footage of important facilities. The other defendant in the second case was caught breaking the law by taking pictures of facilities that were prohibited. The Public Prosecution was notified of both.
Before sending the cases to court, the Public Prosecution conducted investigations, questioned the defendants, heard witness testimony, and examined technical reports. The court had multiple hearings to review the cases before rendering its decisions.
In accordance with the enforcement of the law and the maintenance of security and stability, the Public Prosecution declared that it will continue to take strong legal action against any violations of laws and regulations or acts that jeopardize the security of the Kingdom, jeopardize essential facilities, or jeopardize public safety.
