Manama, May 3 (BNA): Director General of Traffic Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa stated that traffic safety is a crucial component in safeguarding road users, and that public safety is essential to community stability.
Launch of initiative to equip motorcycles escorting official convoys with electronic plate system to enhance traffic safety
He mentioned the start of a qualitative initiative to equip motorcycles that accompany official convoys with an electronic plate system. The goal of this initiative is to provide drivers with guidance on safe driving practices to follow when an official convoy passes, thereby improving safety and regulating traffic flow.
In accordance with the demands of each situation, the Director General of Traffic emphasized the significance of drivers adhering to traffic laws and responding favorably to the advice shown on electronic license plates. He reaffirmed that traffic safety is still a shared responsibility among all road users, based on awareness and cooperation, helping to establish a safe traffic environment that supports the safety of all members of society.
Additionally, he thanked the Ministry of Interior’s and the University of Bahrain’s team for their constructive cooperation, which helped the initiative develop and be implemented with the necessary quality to meet its goals of improving traffic safety. He also emphasized the significance of maintaining institutional collaborations that support programs meant to enhance neighborhood safety and quality of life.
