Manama, April 19 (BNA): The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security’s Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit disclosed statistical data and continued monitoring initiatives, noting that 113 reports were received between the start of 2026 and April 15.

According to the unit, there has been a discernible diversity in the nature of these reports lately in terms of different patterns of offenses committed, which reflects the changing methods of criminal activity in the digital environment and emphasizes the significance of continuing to develop response mechanisms and improving readiness to address these developments in accordance with the best security and legal practices.
Additionally, the unit stated that it is still strengthening its role in prevention and awareness by stepping up targeted awareness programs, especially in educational institutions, and broadening outreach initiatives to increase community understanding of online threats and preventative actions.
It also emphasized enhancing structures for coordination and cooperation with pertinent national and international organizations.
In accordance with changing challenges and to guarantee the highest levels of protection for children online, the unit continues to develop and implement an integrated action plan for 2026 that focuses on building institutional capabilities, fortifying partnerships, and implementing best practices in child protection in cyberspace.
