Manama, April 6 (BNA): In light of the Iranian aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain and the current regional developments, Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police and Chairman of the National Civil Emergency Management Committee, presided over an extraordinary meeting of the committee, which was attended by representatives of the pertinent member entities. The purpose of the meeting was to review the National Civil Emergency Management Center’s workflow.

Lt-Gen Al Hassan praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s royal orders and those of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to reimburse civilians for property and vehicle damage caused by the aggression. He pointed out that these orders demonstrate the leadership’s commitment to people’ well-being and to provide for their requirements in whatever situation.
The Chief of Police also praised the directives given by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Civil Defence Council and Minister of the Interior, as well as his support for risk management through a strategic approach that guarantees the preservation of strategic stocks, the sustainability of essential services, and the examination of thorough national plans in this regard.
He emphasized the significance of the institutional integration spearheaded by the National Civil Emergency Management Center during the meeting, highlighting its function in bringing national efforts together and improving coordination among the pertinent authorities to improve response efficiency, crisis management, and the capacity to meet the needs of citizens and residents.
In order to facilitate prompt decision-making based on precise analysis of trends and indications, the meeting examined the overall situation, including dashboard updates and daily statistics.
In addition to reviewing the approved plans with the various pertinent institutions, the meeting covered topics to ensure comprehensive protection, such as field readiness and strengthening response capabilities, as well as the sustainability of services and infrastructure through the preparation of integrated plans to ensure food, water, and medical security, the efficiency of the energy and electricity sector, and the resilience of communications networks and warning systems.
The committee emphasized the need to maintain regional and global coordination and cooperation with organizations and emergency operation rooms to share knowledge and information, and it approved expanding awareness and media programs through the National Civil Protection Platform in addition to conducting field exercises.
In order to improve the preparedness of the national system, guarantee the safety of people and property, and preserve national security, the committee confirmed that work is ongoing around-the-clock to monitor the event record and update response plans on a regular basis.
