Manama, February 18 (BNA): The ambassadors of Arab nations accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain were received by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs.
Municipalities Minister reviews development of municipal work in Bahrain with Arab ambassadors
The conference was attended by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the president of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA).
Members of the diplomatic corps were given the opportunity to explore the municipal exhibition and discover more about the lengthy history of municipal activity in the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of familiarization trips organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The minister began the discussion by praising Bahrain’s close ties to other Arab nations and the ongoing coordination and collaboration in a number of areas.
Under the direction of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in accordance with the orders of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, he pointed out that continuous modernization and development within the municipal sector are a component of the overall development process.
The minister emphasized Bahrain’s long history of municipal service, which dates back more than a century to 1919, when Manama Municipality was established by the late Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. He pointed out that this legacy had improved public services and aided in urban growth. He went on to say that Bahrain’s dedication to conserving this legacy is demonstrated by the opening of the renovated Manama Municipality building, which was first inaugurated in 1962 by the late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The ambassadors visited the exhibition that chronicled the municipality’s institutional journey and history, including its development and progress throughout the decades, and they also toured the municipality building and examined its enhanced amenities.
A thorough briefing on the duties of the municipality and significant turning points in the development of municipal activity was also given to attendees, and a variety of subjects of shared interest were covered.
The Arab ambassadors, for their part, emphasized the value of such gatherings in fostering greater Arab coordination and cooperation while applauding the institutional advancements they saw, which mirror Bahrain’s longstanding municipal experience.
