Manama, February 11 (BNA): Tomorrow, Thursday, the official activities of the National Sports Day will start at Bahrain Bay under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).

In addition to awareness booths encouraging physical exercise and public health, over 30 sporting events and interactive activities are planned starting in the morning. These include team sports, open fitness classes, contests, and activities specifically designed for kids and families.
The GSA attested that all organizational arrangements had been completed in Bahrain Bay, with supervisory teams assigned to guarantee safety and efficient coordination and open areas that can hold a significant number of participants.
The program’s objectives are to increase community involvement in sports and motivate locals to make physical activity a regular habit. The public has been asked by the Authority to participate in the free and public events.
To promote involvement in the Sports Day events, the government has declared Thursday, February 12, a half-day workday for public sector workers.
