Education Ministry updates operational procedures to enhance flexibility in service delivery

Early education facilities, including as nurseries and kindergartens, will be allowed to reopen under the revised protocols. All of these institutions are scheduled to reopen on Sunday, April 5, 2026, and parents are free to decide whether or not to use these services.

Additionally, the Ministry authorized the restart of in-person services for kids with exceptional needs (also known as “people of determination”) in both public and private institutions. Parents will still be able to choose whether or not to attend; services will resume on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Additionally, through flexible programs established with awarding international bodies, private schools are permitted to carry out evaluation procedures relating to foreign qualifications. In order to protect students’ future academic opportunities, this approach attempts to guarantee that students receive their diplomas and graduation statements without sacrificing academic standards.

Until further notice from the Ministry, all students in public and private schools as well as other educational institutions will continue to learn remotely.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, confirmed that the revised operational processes give parents more options and more freedom when it comes to special education and early childhood education services. He continued by saying that by offering a suitable substitute evaluation known as the “no exam route,” the policies also safeguard the interests of students seeking international certifications.

The Minister praised both public and private schools for their dedication to using digital platforms for assessment procedures, guaranteeing uninterrupted instruction and evaluation. Additionally, he conveyed his gratitude to all educators for their continued collaboration and compliance with the Ministry’s authorized policies and regulations.
