Nov. 10, Manama (BNA): The prime minister and crown prince, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, presided over the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace today.

The Cabinet emphasized the significance of the discussions that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of the Kingdom of Malaysia, during His Majesty’s official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Cabinet stated that the visit’s results have strengthened bilateral ties and demonstrate the two nations’ shared commitment to expanding their collaboration in a number of areas in order to accomplish shared development objectives.
The Cabinet praised the opening of the King Hamad Lecture for Neutral Justice, which His Royal Highness attended on behalf of His Majesty the King. The Cabinet highlighted the esteemed group of judges, public servants, international legal specialists, and business professionals who investigated the effects of new international courts on investment and trade, advancements in cross-border dispute settlement, and Bahrain’s aspiration to become a regional center for international legal cooperation and commercial justice.
The Cabinet emphasized the importance of the results of the third Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition (AICS 2025), which was sponsored by the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The event was opened by Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, on behalf of his Royal Highness. He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance global cybersecurity cooperation.
The Cabinet then thanked the Ministry of Interior and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority in particular for their efforts in making the Royal Bahrain Concours a success. The Cabinet highlighted Bahrain’s notable international reputation in motorsport by pointing out the event’s high level of public involvement and wide participation. The Cabinet also expressed gratitude to the Bahrain International Circuit, the Ministry of Interior, and everyone else who helped make the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain a success.
The Cabinet emphasized the opening of the second phase of the Avenues-Bahrain extension project, which significantly increased the mall’s size and variety and solidified its standing as a top destination for entertainment and shopping.
The announcement of passenger ferry services between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Qatar was then welcomed by the Cabinet, which also examined a report on this development that was provided by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications. In this context, His Royal Highness ordered that the ferry route be used for commercial and tourism cargo activities, including the transportation of people and cars, in order to improve collaboration and communication between the two nations. Additionally, His Royal Highness gave the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications instructions to keep monitoring the completion of plans for carrying out the Bahrain–Qatar Causeway project.

The following memorandums were subsequently accepted by the Cabinet:
1. A document from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs about a proposed law that would allow Bahrain to join the Locarno Agreement on the creation of an International Classification for Industrial Designs.
2. A document on a proposed general agreement to connect the GCC nations with the GCC Rail Project was filed by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs.
3. A document about an agreement to facilitate the movement of maritime vessels designated for recreational purposes between the GCC States was filed by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs.
4. A letter about a Memorandum of Understanding between the Higher Education Council and QS Quacquarelli Symonds in the United Kingdom was filed by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs.
The following ministerial reports were then noted by the Cabinet:
1. The results of the Kingdom’s attendance in the Fifth High Joint Commission Meeting between Bahrain and India.
2. The results of the Kingdom’s involvement in the 2025 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference.
3. The results of the Kingdom’s involvement in the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) World Leaders Climate Action Summit.
4. The inaugural Bahrain International Public Health Conference’s results.
5. The results of the Minister of Youth Affairs’ official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
6. The results of the Kingdom’s involvement in the Second World Summit for Social Development.
