Manama, Jan. 25 (BNA): As part of broader government initiatives to improve service quality and streamline procedures, the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has introduced an improved service that enables customers to apply for new low- and high-voltage electricity connections through streamlined and digitally enabled procedures.

According to EWA President Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, the effort is a reflection of the Authority’s strategic focus on digital transformation, which aims to improve customer satisfaction, expedite service delivery, and increase operational efficiency.

Depending on project preparedness, the enhanced service offers three organized pathways: projects carried out by private developers, applications requiring new infrastructure, and situations with existing infrastructure. Each pathway helps to save processing time and increase efficiency by clearly defining needs and responsibilities.

In order to improve service dependability and transparency, the development also incorporates automation and system integration, which allow for quicker processing, real-time application tracking, and direct customer updates.

The initiative is a component of a larger national program to modernize government services, under which over 1,300 services have been published and documented. Approximately 800 of these services have been redesigned in a variety of sectors to increase productivity and service quality while supporting Bahrain’s objectives for digital transformation.
