Dec. 24, Manama (BNA): The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) concepts will be better understood by public and private sector employees, university students, and interested learners thanks to a new e-learning program on sustainable development announced by the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).

BIBF launches e-learning programme in sustainable development

The initiative supports productivity across institutions and sectors, prepares national talent for roles in the green economy, and advances the Kingdom of Bahrain’s aims of economic diversification and carbon neutrality.

With the help of local and global case studies, data visualizations, and standardized tests, it provides interactive content that covers the principles of sustainable development as well as contemporary environmental, social, and economic issues. Its goal is to give national professionals the knowledge and skills they need to promote a more competitive and sustainable economy.

The online curriculum showcases effective practices from Bahrain, the region, and around the world while highlighting fundamental sustainability principles and current issues. Participants are encouraged to contribute their experiences and useful applications through discussion forums and expert-led video segments.

According to Bassam Kazerooni, Acting Head of the Banking Center at BIBF, the program strengthens workforce knowledge of sustainable development fundamentals and equips participants with skills that are in line with regional and global market requirements, which is a practical step in supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to build a diversified and sustainable economy.

In addition to pre- and post-assessments to gauge learning impact and a downloadable toolkit with templates and helpful advice to promote real-world application, the program is accessible through BIBF’s e-learning platform, which offers flexible access.
