London, Nov. 25 (BNA): Lord Peter Hendy, Minister of State for Rail, and Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met in the UK Department for Transport.

Transportation Minister meets UK Rail Minister

The discussion included future plans to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain’s transportation infrastructure and service quality, as well as collaboration on railway projects and the creation of contemporary transportation systems.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized the importance of growing bilateral strategic partnerships in sustainable transport through knowledge exchange and best practices, as well as the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the UK, particularly in advanced transportation and infrastructure development.

Additionally, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the UK Department for Business and Trade, the Department for Transport, and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. The MoU intends to increase collaboration in a number of crucial areas pertaining to sustainable and intelligent transportation.

Chris McDonald, the Minister of State for Rail and Minister for Industry at the UK Department for Business and Trade, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

In order to promote sustainability and lower emissions, the agreement creates a thorough framework for creating contemporary transportation networks, enhancing the effectiveness of public transportation, fortifying maritime and aviation alliances, and implementing cutting-edge technologies. In order to create national expertise in the design, execution, and management of advanced transport projects, it also involves cooperative knowledge exchange, capacity-building initiatives, and specialized workshops.
