Nov. 17, Manama (BNA): The weekly Cabinet Meeting was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace today.

The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Prime Minister and Crown Prince, on the Bahrain International Trophy’s triumph at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC). His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, led the REHC, and the Cabinet praised its work.

The Cabinet examined how well HRH, the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister had instructed the Ministry of Labor to offer three employment chances to each registered Bahraini job seeker by the end of the year. The program is in line with HM the King’s expansive goals of providing residents with employment options. The Cabinet thanked the Ministry for its tremendous efforts in hiring more than 2,000 job applicants so far.

In addition to the opening of the GCC pavilion in conjunction with the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council, which was presided over by HM the King in December, the Cabinet welcomed the results of the periodic meeting of the leaders of the Shura, Representatives, National, and Ummah Councils of the GCC countries, which was hosted by Bahrain.

Bahrain’s national jiu-jitsu team won two gold medals in the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Thailand, which was praised by the Cabinet.

The Cabinet emphasized the Kingdom’s steadfast dedication to creating an atmosphere that encourages harmony, diversity, and openness on this International Day for Tolerance.

In honor of World Children’s Day, the Cabinet highlighted the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to improve children’s rights.

On Oman’s National Day, the Cabinet thanked the Sultanate of Oman’s leadership and populace.

After reviewing a number of memoranda, the Cabinet approved the following:

1. Changes to the Law on Correctional and Rehabilitation Institutions and the Penal Code that govern the work activities of prisoners.

2. A memorandum of agreement with the UK about collaboration while Bahrain is a member of the Security Council from 2026 to 2027.

3. Regulating a number of business-related and real estate-related activities.

4. The government’s reaction to numerous recommendations offered by the Council of Representatives.

1. Developments regarding the Ministerial Committee for Community Services’ priorities.

2. Performance metrics for primary healthcare facilities and government hospitals.

3. Developments regarding the Bahraini government’s 2025 legislative plan’s implementation.

Lastly, the following ministry reports were noted by the Cabinet:

1. Results of the Kingdom’s attendance at the International Security Alliance summit.

2. GCC Interior Ministers’ Meeting Results.

3. Results of the International Conference on Human Development, Health, and Population.

4. Results of the Cabinet Affairs Minister’s formal visit to Saudi Arabia.

5. Results of the Kingdom’s attendance at the UN General Assembly on Tourism.
