Industry Ministry launches National Incentive Initiative to support commercial establishments
The initiative, which is carried out by the Ministry’s Consumer Protection Directorate, aims to enable commercial shop owners to increase their promotional activities and revitalize the purchasing movement throughout the Kingdom’s governorates, according to Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce. This will be accomplished by extending the period of commercial sales and discounts from the present month of December to the end of 2025 and exempting commercial establishments from promotional campaign fees.
He reaffirmed that this action reflects the Ministry’s dedication to assisting business owners and entrepreneurs of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), increasing the commercial sector’s involvement in national celebrations, and simultaneously revitalizing local markets. Additionally, it promotes shopping at national retailers, which boosts domestic spending rates and the economic cycle.
By working directly with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s Consumer Protection Directorate, the minister encouraged proprietors of commercial stores and enterprises to benefit from the initiative’s facilitations. Participation applications may be sent by email to promotion_enquiries@moic.gov.bh.
He added that the Ministry is dedicated to controlling advertising campaigns and making sure businesses follow the relevant laws through the Consumer Protection Directorate. This is essential for maintaining the rights of both customers and vendors and boosting trust in the local economy.
Minister Fakhro emphasized that this national initiative is a crucial component of the collaboration between the public and private sectors in promoting economic development and solidifying Bahrain’s standing as a prosperous and diverse commercial hub that helps realize the Kingdom’s future developmental and economic goals.
