Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): On November 20, Bahrain Bourse, in partnership with the Arab Federation of Capital Markets (AFCM), will host “The Market 2.0” conference with the theme “Disruptive Digital Transformation in Capital Markets” under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The conference will provide a forum for discussing how technology is changing capital markets and improving their sustainability, efficiency, and inclusion.
It is anticipated that around 300 people will attend, together with 18 knowledgeable speakers from exchanges, financial market regulators, brokerage firms, financial institutions, and international technology suppliers. Along with looking at innovation facilitators like regulatory sandboxes, the program will cover topics like improving market depth, liquidity, and Bahrain’s capital markets’ ability to compete globally.
Yusef Al Yusef, Chairman of Bahrain Bourse, will provide the opening keynote address. There will also be panel discussions with professionals from regional, global, and local markets. Khalid Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, will provide his thoughts on how to improve Bahrain’s capital market ecology in the first panel. In the second, CEOs of local stock exchanges will discuss new technology and offer their thoughts on how financial market innovation will develop in the future.
Al Yusef thanked His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his generous support, pointing out that it shows the government’s dedication to bolstering the capital markets industry and its contribution to the country’s economy. The conference, he continued, is in line with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 and sustainable economic growth objectives.
He emphasized that Bahrain’s hosting of the conference highlights its prominent position in the capital markets industry and its role in promoting regional and global discourse to improve legal and regulatory frameworks, share knowledge, and advance a sustainable investment environment.
