The event was attended by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the BSA, and Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Minister of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Space Agency’s Board of Directors.

It was revealed at the occasion that the factory would build “Al Tayer,” the first constellation of Emirati Earth observation satellites with AI integration. By the end of the decade, it is anticipated to rank among the most sophisticated in the region.

Al Aseeri emphasized that the project creates an innovative, knowledge-based, sustainable space economy. Additionally, he pointed out that it fosters the development of national talent, advances scientific research and technical advancement, and improves the role of the country’s private sector.

The factory is intended to be a next-generation platform that speeds up the creation and use of space technologies. It has extensive testing facilities, including thermal vacuum chambers and electromagnetic compatibility labs, as well as state-of-the-art clean rooms for satellite assembly. By drastically reducing traditional production schedules from years to months, the integrated model makes it possible to create highly customized, high-performance satellites with remarkable efficiency.

The constellation’s initial launch is slated for 2026, which will usher in a new era of the UAE’s worldwide leadership in space technology and artificial intelligence.
