Manama, Nov. 8 (BNA): In order to create an international guide on gender equality in food and agriculture systems, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organized a high-level consultative session in which Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council, took part.

She described Bahrain’s executive and legislative initiatives to improve food security and guarantee that everyone has sustained access to adequate and healthy nutrition.

Dr. Al Fadhel emphasized Bahrain’s all-encompassing strategy under the direction of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, pointing out that gender equality in Bahrain goes beyond legislation and policy to include active involvement in social, economic, and developmental spheres.

She praised the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), which is led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, for encouraging women to work in important fields including food production and agriculture.

The FAO praised Bahrain’s presentation and its advancements in gender equality and food security, characterizing the Kingdom as a proactive model for women’s empowerment and sustainable development.
