Nov. 6, Manama (BNA): When His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, King of Malaysia, and his party arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain on a state visit, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa greeted them.
HM King welcomes HM King of Malaysia
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Personal Representative; His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Representative for Youth Affairs and Humanitarian Work and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Royal Court; and several other high-ranking officials were also present to greet His Majesty the King of Malaysia.
Then, while His Majesty the King greeted members of the official entourage traveling with HM the King of Malaysia, His Majesty King Sultan Ibrahim greeted prominent Bahraini authorities.
Then, with a mounted police escort, the convoy of HM King and HM King Sultan Ibrahim continued on to Al Sakhir Palace. A traditional Bahraini ardha was performed in honor of His Majesty King Sultan Ibrahim’s visit, and students from Ministry of Education schools greeted HM the King of Malaysia.
Following formal welcoming rites for HM the King of Malaysia, a 21-gun salute was fired in honor of the visiting king and the national anthems of both nations were performed by the band.
HM the King’s personal representative, HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, led the Mission of Honour.
Several of His Majesty’s sons and high-ranking officials were part of the official delegation that accompanied HM the King of Malaysia on his visit to Bahrain.
As is traditional during state visits, the Royal Bahraini Air Force escorted HM the King of Malaysia’s aircraft as it entered Bahraini airspace.
